Stephin Merritt is undeniably a genius, but sometimes genius gets a little tiresome. Don't get me wrong: I love 69 Love Songs. But after a while, it's just him, going on and on.That's why his side projects are nice. You get the genius of the man, but with a little variety thrown in.
